The EAP610GP-Desktop is an AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 desktop GPON access point that combines high-speed fibre connectivity, enterprise-grade wireless networking and versatile wired connectivity into a single compact device. Designed for hotels, apartments, student accommodation, offices and other fibre-to-the-room deployments, it simplifies network infrastructure by delivering broadband, wireless access and voice services from one elegant solution.
Powered by dual-band Wi-Fi 6 technology, the EAP610GP-Desktop delivers combined wireless speeds of up to 1.8 Gbps, providing fast and reliable connectivity for modern business applications, HD video streaming, VoIP communications and cloud-based services. Advanced wireless technologies including MU-MIMO, OFDMA and seamless roaming help improve network efficiency, minimise latency and ensure connected devices experience consistent performance, even in environments with multiple simultaneous users.
At the heart of the device is an integrated GPON optical port, enabling direct connection to a passive optical network without the need for a separate optical network terminal. By carrying data, wireless networking, voice and multimedia services over a single fibre connection, the EAP610GP-Desktop helps reduce installation costs while creating a streamlined and future-ready networking solution for modern buildings.
In addition to its wireless capabilities, the access point provides four Gigabit Ethernet ports for connecting wired devices such as desktop computers, IP cameras, smart televisions and network printers. One of these ports supports 802.3af PoE output, allowing compatible devices such as IP phones or other network equipment to be powered directly from the access point. An integrated FXS RJ11 port also enables support for VoIP telephone services, making the unit particularly well suited to hospitality and residential environments where voice connectivity remains essential.
The compact enclosure has been designed for flexible installation and can be placed on a desktop or mounted neatly on a wall to suit a wide variety of deployment scenarios. Its discreet appearance makes it ideal for guest rooms, reception areas, offices and meeting spaces where reliable connectivity is required without compromising the overall aesthetics of the environment.
As part of the TP-Link Omada Software Defined Networking platform and Unified Optical Solution, the EAP610GP-Desktop can be centrally managed alongside compatible Omada access points, gateways, switches and optical line terminals through a single interface. Administrators benefit from simplified deployment, remote monitoring and centralised configuration, while features such as multiple guest portals, PPSK security, WPA3 encryption and seamless roaming provide a secure, scalable and easy-to-manage networking solution for enterprise environments.
