The MikroTik Gigabit Passive Ethernet Repeater or RBGPeR unit allows you to extend the capability of a CAT6 Ethernet cable connection by an additional 100 to 150 m (depending on cable quality) to regular network devices.
If you are connecting two GPeR units together, it increases to up to 210m. This can be repeated up to 1,500m. Perfect for use cases such as high-rise buildings and multi-apartment buildings, with multiple floors and sections where long Ethernet links would cause issues.
An Ethernet link with the GPeR can be extended to up to 1.5km if only one side of the link is PoE powered. This can be doubled up to 3km if both sides of the link have PoE sources.
The GPeR requires a PoE source in order to operate.
