The Course

The UniFi Wireless Admin (UWA) training course is a comprehensive hands-on, two-day training course that dives deep into essential concepts of Enterprise Wireless Networking providing both the background of foundational theoretical wireless knowledge with specific reference to use of 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz indoor wireless devices. The course provides hands-on experience of building a 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax wireless network system using Ubiquiti UniFi equipment. This course is designed to prepare professionals to meet the challenges faced by today's enterprise networks through hands-on lab activities using UniFi AP's. On successful completion of the course each student receives a free official "Ubiquiti" T Shirt and after achieving a pass in the examination (pass mark is 65%), the student will also receive a certificate.

UniFi Full Stack Professional (UFSP) content is covered during this course and an optional exam can be taken for those interested in obtaining this additional certification.

The Trainer

The UWA training courses are being delivered by Jono Thompson. Jono has 21 years of experience working on routing, switching and wireless in enterprise networks.

Intended Target Audience:

This course is aimed at Support technicians, system integrators, installers and other technical professionals/users who already use or would like to start using UniFi wireless access points and UniFi Cloud Gateways for delivering wireless based network connectivity. 

Student Prerequisites:

  • An understanding of TCP/IP and the difference between a Layer2 and a Layer3 network
  • An understanding of IPv4 Subnetting
  • An understanding of the OSI Model
  • A working laptop with WiFi and Ethernet ports, and the ability to gain Administrative access rights to the operating system.
  • A mobile device running Android or iOS
  • If the student is wishing to take the UWA examination, then *Photo ID will be required to prove their identity before taking the exam.
  • Previous experience of the UniFi Network Application is beneficial

*Acceptable types of ID are equal to that required for City and Guilds exams.

Timetable

1st Day: 09:00 - 17:00
2nd Day: 09:00 - 17:00
15 minute Breaks: 10:30 and 15:00
30 min Lunch: 12:30

Optional UWA exam at the end of day 2 which runs for 1 hour.

Optional UFSP exam which runs for 40 mins.
