This training manual compliments the actual MTCSWE Training course, however this book does not include any of the 20 labs that are conducted over the three days of an MTCSWE course. This manual was designed primarily as a student aid to the course and thus provides the free training manual handed out to students on every MTCSWE course.

The MikroTik Certified Switching Engineer (MTCEWE) training course is one of the advanced engineer level training courses from MikroTik aimed at those students wishing to learn more about how Layer 2 Switching works and the bridge configuration using RouterOS and also covers configuration using SwOS. The MTCSWE course is for those who already have an understanding of MikroTik and an understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking but are wishing to understand more about How MikroTik’s Cloud Router Switches work and can be deployed as switches in the home or an Enterprise or Corporate based network.

Jono has spent over 24 years working in Enterprise Networks and Datacentres and many other sectors. Having spent so many years working on Switching and routing in the enterprise when the new MikroTik CRS switch range was released Jono was very keen to see how these could be deployed in the enterprise, this lead Jono to take the lead alongside Ron, other trainers and MikroTik in the development of the MTCSWE training course.

After spending 22 years in the enterprise and serving as an internal trainer, Jono decided it was time to move on, driven by his passion for training. He now works as the Head of Training at LinTIX, where he can dedicate more time to sharing his enthusiasm for networks.

Having gained qualifications with HP, Microsoft, Ruckus, MikroTik and Ubiquiti, he has now been teaching his extensive knowledge of wireless and networking to many hundreds of students from around the world.

This book is his latest development and it is hoped that the knowledge learnt between these pages will expand your knowledge and make your life that little bit easier in the world of Layer2 and switching on MikroTik RouterOS.
