The ES205GP is a compact 5-port Gigabit Easy Managed Switch with integrated PoE+ support, designed to provide dependable wired networking and efficient power delivery for small businesses, retail environments, surveillance systems and home offices. Combining Gigabit performance with intelligent Layer 2 management features, it offers a straightforward and cost-effective way to expand your network while supplying power and data to compatible devices over a single Ethernet cable.
The switch is equipped with five Gigabit RJ45 ports, four of which support IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+ standards. With a total PoE power budget of 65W and up to 30W available per PoE port, the ES205GP is capable of powering wireless access points, IP cameras, VoIP phones and other PoE-enabled devices without requiring separate power supplies. This reduces installation complexity, lowers cabling costs and provides greater flexibility when deploying network equipment in locations where mains power may be limited.
Delivering a switching capacity of 10 Gbps and a forwarding rate of 7.4 Mpps, the ES205GP provides fast and reliable data transmission for everyday business networking. Built-in Layer 2 features including VLAN support, Quality of Service (QoS), IGMP Snooping and automatic loop prevention help optimise traffic flow, improve network stability and ensure bandwidth is prioritised for latency-sensitive applications such as IP surveillance, voice communications and video streaming.
To improve reliability in demanding deployments, the ES205GP includes intelligent PoE management features such as PoE Auto Recovery, which can automatically reboot unresponsive powered devices to minimise downtime. Port Isolation enhances network security by restricting communication between selected ports, while extended PoE transmission of up to 250 metres at reduced speeds makes the switch particularly well suited to larger surveillance installations and remote device deployments.
The durable metal enclosure and completely fanless design ensure long-term reliability while maintaining silent operation, making the ES205GP an excellent choice for offices, classrooms, reception areas and other noise-sensitive environments. Its compact form factor supports both desktop placement and wall mounting, allowing the switch to be installed neatly in a variety of network environments without occupying unnecessary space.
As part of the TP-Link Omada Agile Series, the ES205GP supports centralised cloud management through the Omada platform, enabling administrators to remotely configure devices, monitor network performance and manage multiple sites from a single interface. With its combination of Gigabit connectivity, intelligent PoE capabilities and simplified management, the ES205GP provides a scalable and dependable networking solution for organisations looking to build an efficient and easy-to-manage wired infrastructure.
†These functions require the use of the Omada SDN Controller. Zero-Touch Provisioning requires the use of the Omada Cloud-Based Controller. Go to the Omada Cloud-Based Controller Product List to find all the models supported by the Omada Cloud-Based Controller.
‡This switch supports PoE Auto Recovery under Standalone Mode (managed separately without a controller) and supports manual PoE Recovery under Controller Mode (centrally managed with a controller).
△QoS and Priority Mode are supported under Standalone Mode.
*PoE budget calculations are based on laboratory testing. The actual PoE power budget is not guaranteed and will vary due to client limitations and environmental factors.
**The speed of the ports that support 250m PoE transmission will be downgraded to 10 Mbps. Actual transmission distance may vary depending on the quality of the cables.
