The TP‑Link Omada SG5428XMPP redefines what’s possible at the network access layer by combining enterprise grade Layer 3 routing, high power PoE++, 10 Gbps uplinks, and stacking flexibility all under the polished control of TP-Link’s Omada SDN. With its solid metal chassis hosting 24 gigabit RJ-45 ports, eight delivering up to 90 W each and sixteen delivering up to 30 W each, the SG5428XMPP can power a dense array of devices such as access points, IP cameras, and endpoint clusters. Its generous 500 W PoE budget, complemented by fast PoE and Perpetual PoE features, ensures reliable delivery of power even through system reboots.
But the SG5428XMPP is more than just a PoE powerhouse. Its quartet of SFP+ slots provide ultra low latency 10 Gbps links for high bandwidth uplinks or stacking operations. Thanks to its physical stacking capability, encompassing up to four units with up to 80 Gbps aggregated bandwidth, the switch can scale effortlessly while maintaining resilience and simplicity in deployment.
Routing capabilities stand robust with support for static routing, RIP, OSPF, DHCP server and relay, enabling segmented networks or inter‑VLAN traffic handling right at the access layer. ERPS ensures rapid recovery in ring deployments and security is bolstered through ACLs, 802.1X, DoS defence, port security, and dynamic ARP inspection, making it ideal for medium‑sized business environments or ISPs.
Management options are expansive: cloud-based via the Omada SDN controller for unified oversight, or locally via a secure web GUI, CLI, SNMP, or RMON. The switch even supports zero‑touch provisioning, encrypted control sessions, batch firmware updates, and detailed monitoring tools.
With its combination of powerful PoE delivery, high-speed uplinks, advanced routing, stacking, and comprehensive management, the SG5428XMPP delivers a future‑ready access‑layer switch that adapts to growth, secures connectivity, and eases IT operations.
