Turris T-OMNIA Gigabit Open Source Router
The Turris Omnia is a powerful, Open Source Gigabit router. Based on the Marvel Armada 385 CPU - dual-core armv7 running at 1.6 GHz, 2GB of RAM, 8 GB eMMC as its main storage and a Compex WLE900VX for 5GHz AC WiFi connectivity.
A home router is a necessity to keep you connected to the internet and its services, however it is idle most of the time, using electricity. Why not use it for more? With its powerful hardware, the Turris Omnia can handle gigabit traffic and still handle other tasks. You could use it as a home server, NAS, print-server and it even has a virtual server built-in.
Open and Secure Software:
Openness- Omnia uses an operating system based on OpenWrt. This means that you have an open Linux distribution in your device and can do anything you want. The source code is publicly available online.
Automatic updates- Unlike most other routers, the Turris Omnia benefits from automatic updates to its core components for the lifetime of the device. Keeping your home protected from new cyber threats.
Distributed adaptive firewall- Omnia sends information about suspicious data streams to the Turris headquarters. The data received from thousands of routers is compared and if an attack is identified, updates are sent to all Turris devices (This can be disabled).
Virtual server- Thanks to the 2GB of onboard RAM, the Omnia can be used as a built-in virtual server to run any Linux distribution (even Ubuntu or Debian) without risk to the main system.
Hardware and features:
Network Attached Storage- Thanks to the two USB 3.0 ports and powerful CPU you can also use the Omnia as a NAS with a performance of dedicated NAS storage.
Network throughput- The internal network setup of the Omnia is unique amongst home routers. Utilising three Gigabit Ethernet lines, it offers better performance and more configuration options.
SFP connector- If you have an FTTH (Fiber To The Home) type of connection, the Omnia can fully replace most ISP devices. Just insert the correct SFP module.
Backup connectivity- Using the USB or miniPCIe LTE modem you can easily create a backup fail-over connection.
Adjustable RGB LED- All of the twelve diodes are fully programmable. Set any colour, brightness, flashing interval or turn them off at night.
Powerful antennas- With three powerful antennas and the option of adding two more LTE antennas, the Omnia always guarantees smooth data transfer.
Extensibility- Containing three mPCIe slots, Omnia offers enough space not just for Wi-Fi cards, but also for an LTE modem or disk controller.
