||||The MOX F USB Module allows you to add additional hardware to your MOX configuration. It contains USB 3.0 ports with transfer speeds of up to 5 Gbps that you can use to connect external devices such as drives, TV tuners and more.
When using a MOX F, you can use this module to power a MOX set. It is possible to power the set without using the power supply from MOX A Module. Additionally, it is also possible to use both of the power supplies from the MOX A and F at the same time.
The recommended average load of the USB ports on the MOX F while all ports are in use and using the internal power supply of the MOX F is 800mA per port. This limit is more than enough for most use cases. Additional cooling can help increase this limit. Using solely the MOX A PSU significantly decreases the load limit of USB ports.
Compatibility
You can only use one MOX F module within the configuration; the PCIe bus is terminated there. For this reason, the MOX F cannot be combined with the MOX B. This module can be used only as an extension in a set. You will need at least a MOX Start. If you’re combining it with other modules, make sure they are compatible. You can verify the order of modules and pass-through of PCIe and SGMII signals in the configurator.
