The NetMetal ax features a modern dual-core ARM CPU, Gigabit Ethernet, and a 2.5 Gigabit SFP for fiber connectivity, ensuring high-speed and reliable performance. A USB port and a free miniPCIe slot provide further customisation options. For instance, you can add an LTE modem for mobile internet backup, as the device includes a NanoSIM slot. Alternatively, integrate a gateway for LoRa IoT setups with accessories like the R11e-LR8.

Equipped with a powerful dual-band, dual-chain WiFi 6 radio, the NetMetal ax offers enhanced speed, stability, security, roaming, and power management compared to previous wireless protocols. Two RP-SMA connectors allow for the connection of directional antennas, allowing long distance links, dependent on the antenna gain and your local regulations.

For shorter range applications, the NetMetal ax is compatible with the HGO-antenna-OUT screw-on omni antenna unit, providing 3.3 dBi gain for the 2.4 GHz band and 5.5-7.1 dBi gain for the 5 GHz band.
