The Tycon Solar TP-SCPOE-1248 is a dual input PoE/Solar charger that can charge batteries from a PoE source whilst also allowing for a secondary source, such as solar panels (which take priority when the sun is shining to minimise grid power usage), for redundancy.
The TP-SCPOE-1248 has a built in PoE Injector with DC to DC converter that delivers 48V from the PoE Out port and has electronic protections in place for any short circuit, reverse current, overvoltage, overcharge or over discharge issues that may arise.
The TP-SCPOE-1248's Five LED indicators give the user a quick visual indication as to if current is being supplied by a PoE or Solar source, whether or not the battery is charging, if load output is turned on and warnings for if battery is connected with reverse polarity.
The Solar and battery connections on the TP-SCPOE-1248 are done via a 5 screw terminal that accepts up to 10AWG wire, with a secondary 5 screw terminal on the back for connecting other electronics. Poe input and output is done via the RJ45 shielded connectors on the front of the unit.
