The CCR2004-16G-2S+ is designed with single-core performance in mind. It comes equipped with the Annapurna Labs Alpine v2 CPU running at 1.7GHz, and surpasses all previous CCR models when it comes to single-core tasks based on per-connection processing such as queues.

The CCR2004-16G-2S+ features 16 x Gigabit Ethernet ports, 2 x SFP+ cages, a full sized USB and an RJ45 console port all on the front panel. Dual redundant power supplies are built-in for peace of mind on critical deployments and there is active cooling to keep the router performing under heavy loads.

The CCR2004's Ethernet ports are divided into two groups of 8, with each group managed by a Marvell Amethyst family switch chip. Both switch chips and the SFP+ cages each have a separate 10Gbps, full-duplex, line connected directly to the CPU.

The CCR2004-16G-2S+ also comes with 4GB of DDR4 RAM and 128MB of NAND storage.
